U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development Resources
The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development Resources (HUD) has several resources to help limited English proficient individuals access their services:
- The HUD Language Line: all HUD staff in headquarters and Field Offices in the U.S. have direct access to the HUD Language Line. When a person calls or visits any HUD office, HUD staff can set-up a three-way call to connect an interpreter. The Language Line covers 175 languages (click here to see the list of HUD languages).
- HUD Limited English Proficiency (LEP) Resources: this page provides links for a variety of on-demand information, such as brochures and forms, in a wide variety of languages.
- Search HUD-Approved Housing Counseling Agencies by Language: HUD provides on-line web access to information on HUD-Approved Housing Counseling Agencies (HCAs). After selecting a state, you can search a listing of HCAs by language by clicking ‘Click here to narrow your search
